On August 29 at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon, I had the privilege of covering Wyatt Flores and The Red Clay Strays. Having just seen The Red Clay Strays for the first time back in July, I was extremely excited for this show for a few reasons.

What a fabulous Labor Day weekend it was in Lake George, New York. From September 4 through September 6, 2026, the Charles R. Houston, TX heavy rockers King's X have been described by bassist and vocalist Dug Pinnick in a recent interview as "somewhere between the Beatles and Black Sabbath and anything else you can imagine in between, with some kind of gospel vocals." Recently, the band undertook a late August and early September Northeastern run of tour dates, including a stop at Putnam Place in downtown Saratoga Springs, New York, on September 4, 2026.

The Breaking Benjamin 2026 tour with Chevelle, Starset and Kami Kehoe kicked off in Camden, New Jersey on September 2nd. Breaking Ben called all the Cigarette Moms, Divorced Dads, Emo Aunties, and Drunk Uncles out to party with them!

September 3, 2026 brought a bulletproof evening of British metal to Parc Jean-Drapeau in Montreal, Quebec, headlined by the mighty Iron Maiden, along with two of the vaunted ‘Big 4’ of 1980s American thrash metal as support: Megadeth and Anthrax. A legendary night of real metal, it was.

For a generation of British music fans, myself included, The Libertines were THE band. They arrived at the beginning of the 2000s and helped drag indie music back to the front of British culture, inspiring countless bands while introducing a whole new generation to guitar music, cultural influences, and their own brand of East London Chaos. More than 20 years later, those songs haven't simply survived; they've become part of people's lives.

On August 29, College Street Music Hall in New Haven welcomed Sevendust, Theory of a Deadman, and Return to Dust for an evening that showcased three very different sides of rock. Return to Dust brought the hunger of a young band proving itself. Theory of a Deadman delivered the confidence of seasoned hitmakers. Sevendust closed the night with decades of experience, power, and emotion.

It was a hot summer afternoon in San Antonio when I arrived at The Rock Box in the city's historic district to see the powerhouse hard rock trio, Plush. Formed in 2020, the band has previously toured with metal stars like The Warning and Disturbed, but tonight they were the headliners, midway through their fall 2026 North American tour promoting their second studio album, Mass Hysteria (releasing 9/18/26).

There was something wonderfully casual about Rex Orange County at All Points East. Not careless or underprepared, actually quite the opposite, with Alex O’Connor joined by a full band and a brass section - but relaxed enough that it never felt like he was trying to prove he belonged on a stage this size.

Turnstile’s relationship with the UK has grown quickly, but their hour at All Points East suggested that it now runs considerably deeper than novelty or momentum. On August 28, 2026, I went to photograph Taz, a 23-year-old guitarist performing at The Sinclair, located in the heart of Harvard Square in Cambridge. I was so excited because I knew the performance would be amazing. I met Brandon Niederauer (AKA Taz) last year during a live music show at Soundcheck Studios in Pembroke, Massachusetts, and I immediately fell in love with his music.
