On August 29 at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon, I had the privilege of covering Wyatt Flores and The Red Clay Strays. Having just seen The Red Clay Strays for the first time back in July, I was extremely excited for this show for a few reasons.

Every once in a while, you walk into a concert, look at the lineup, and say to yourself, "A few years from now, someone is going to see that lineup and be like, 'Wow, all those bands played together.'" It didn't cost a month's income to see them, and it wasn't on some huge festival grounds. On Saturday, August 15th, in Forest Grove, OR I feel like I witnessed one of those concerts: Ole 60 with support from Kolton Moore and the Clever Few and Cigarettes @ Sunset.

I sat down to review Empires in Orbit's new release, Audiodrome, and I honestly wasn't sure what to expect. This is an artist I had zero background on, and within seconds of the first track, I realized this was something totally outside my normal wheelhouse. While that might turn some people off, it actually excited me. It was something new, something fresh, and something I could approach with zero expectations.
