Concert Review: Vince Staples Brings the Crybaby Tour to South Side Ballroom

Vince Staples graced us with his presence at the South Side Ballroom tonight and performed songs from his new album Crybaby. The tour is named after the new album, and he performed with his band, which was also with him when he performed on Tiny Desk this year. He performed songs like "Only in America," "White Flag," and "Fire," to name a few. He also did a couple of his older songs, such as "When Sparks Fly," that he mentioned was a love song he wrote.
He gave a brief explanation of why he made each song that he performed. He even asked everyone in the crowd if this was their first concert and regularly checked in on how everyone was doing throughout the performance.
If you are a long-time fan of Vince, really enjoy his new material, or know him from his interviews where he answers questions with a straight face, you will enjoy his live performance and energy.
