Concert Review: Throwing Muses at The Parkway Theater in Minneapolis, MN
Throwing Muses delivered a raw, intimate set at The Parkway Theater in Minneapolis on April 13, performing both recent material and the post-punk, discordant melodies that have defined their sound since the 1980s.
Led by the entrancing Kristin Hersh, the band includes her son, Dylan (aka Doony), who has played bass for her in both Throwing Muses and 50FootWave. He joined the lineup for this tour, adding to the band’s live sound alongside drummer Fred Abong (Kristin’s partn

Concert Review: Bush with James and the Cold Gun and Mammoth at MGM Music Hall at Fenway in Boston, MA
On April 12, 2026, Bush performed at MGM Music Hall at Fenway in Boston, MA, alongside Mammoth and James and the Cold Gun. The crowded show was terrific, incredible and just an amazing night of rock music. The three bands played with high intensity and emotion that kept the audience on their feet, dancing and singing and cheering them on.

Concert Review: Dark Tranquility with Persefone and Soen at Rickshaw Theatre in Vancouver, BC
April 4th, 2026 may have been a regular Saturday to some. But to many others who were present at Rickshaw Theatre in Vancouver, BC it was a Saturday to never forget. I have been to many shows here and something I can say with confidence, is that metal shows hit differently here. The crowd’s energy, especially for lineups like tonight’s… It’s always on a different level.

Concert Review: Lotus at Soundcheck Studios
On April 9, 2026, several hundred fans gathered to welcome Lotus, the instrumental electronic jam band formed in Goshen, Indiana, in 1998 and now based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Denver, Colorado. The performance marked the first of two nights at Soundcheck Studios in Pembroke, Massachusetts, as the band continues to promote their latest album, Rise of the Anglerfish, released on February 13, 2026.

Concert Review: Belle and Chain Shine in Acoustic Set at Crowbar in Tampa, Florida
The historic cobblestoned streets of Ybor City are alive and well as I make my way down to Crowbar, Ybor's popular music venue.
Spencer Grammer and Davis IL, better known as Belle and Chain, will take to the stage tonight as they are on the road with Barns Courtney on his ‘Unplugged Solo Acoustic Sessions’ tour.

Concert Review: Freely Fest Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN
Freely Fest made its debut inside Bridgestone Arena on April 8th, and from the moment the doors opened, it was clear this was built to be more than just another show on the live music circuit.
This festival centered itself around the First Amendment, with a focus on artistic expression. That theme carried through every set, every speech, and every moment in between. I was there shooting for Rock DNA Magazine, but it quickly turned into something that felt bigger than a st

Concert Review: Powfu at The Echo Lounge & Music Hall in Dallas, TX
Canadian singer Powfu performed at The Echo Lounge & Music Hall in Dallas, Texas on his Lo-Fi Library Tour.
Best known for his song Death Bed (Coffee for Your Head), which blew up in 2020, Powfu started his music career simply by rapping over lo-fi beats. Before that, he spent a lot of time writing poetry, which ultimately inspired him to take the leap into making music.

Concert Review: Nothing w/ Full Body 2, Cryogeyser, Violent Magic Orchestra at Warsaw, Brooklyn, NY
An 8:00 PM start time for a four band bill can leave a pretty bitter taste in your mouth. Getting out late at night to find a pitch black and sometimes frigid environment can feel quite offputting after the last few hours of music. However, the drowsiness accompanying the aftereffects of a full day of work feels like a complimentary side to the blissful yet harrowing qualities of a shoegaze-centric bill. When I walked out of the Warsaw venue after Nothing’s a short history of

Concert Review: Puscifer Pushes Musical and Social Boundaries with Their Normal Isn't Tour at Wind Creek Event Center in Bethlehem, PA
Puscifer brought their Normal Isn't Tour to the Wind Creek Event Center in Bethlehem, PA. In the true spirit of a Maynard James Keen event, they had an eclectic opener in musician/comedian Dave Hill. Another tell that Maynard was in the building were the signs at the entrances saying that no cameras were allowed and that cell phones must be away during their performance.

Concert Review: Ghosts of Jupiter with The Whole Loaf and The Humans Being at Soundcheck Studios
Great night of music! Great performances! This is how I would describe Ghosts of Jupiter featuring Nate Wilson of Moe at Soundcheck Studios in Pembroke, Massachusetts, on April 2, 2026.
The show started at 8:00 p.m. with two special guests. The Whole Loaf is the closest thing you’ll get to an all-in-one modern sixties band.

Concert Review: lespecial Tentacle Difficulties Tour at Paradise Rock Club in Boston, MA
On Friday, April 3, 2026, at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston, Massachusetts, lespecial delivered an unforgettable performance along with Mihali. The night featured a special Nirvana set followed by a tribute to The Offspring. The sold-out show was nothing short of incredible—easily one of the best rock and roll performances I’ve ever experienced. The gritty, no-frills venue provided the perfect backdrop, and the crowd fed off every moment.

Concert Review: Mammoth with James and the Cold Gun and 10 Years the Egyptian Room at Old National Centre in Indianapolis
As the stage was set for the highly anticipated performance by 10 Years, the production crew worked diligently to ensure a seamless transition. With roots in Knoxville, Tennessee, 10 Years surged to prominence in the early 2000s. Their 2005 album, The Autumn Effect, cemented their status as a strength to be reckoned with among the alt-rock scene with standout tracks such as “Wasteland” and “Through the Iris.” Onstage, 10 Years masterfully harnessed tension, unleashing a sonic

Concert Review: Aly and AJ with Hayden Blount at Archer Music Hall in Allentown, PA

It was one of the first nice days in the Lehigh Valley after a really long and cold winter. Downtown was bustling with concert goers between this show and Hardy a few blocks away the city felt alive.
