Concert Review: Plush at Rock Box, San Antonio

It was a hot summer afternoon in San Antonio when I arrived at The Rock Box in the city's historic district to see the powerhouse hard rock trio, Plush. Formed in 2020, the band has previously toured with metal stars like The Warning and Disturbed, but tonight they were the headliners, midway through their fall 2026 North American tour promoting their second studio album, Mass Hysteria (releasing 9/18/26).
This was my third time seeing Plush, and my first time seeing them since guitarist Bella Perron’s departure in 2025. Based on the first single from the upcoming album, the band hasn't lost any of its hard rock edge, and I was excited to hear both old favorites and new material.
The show began as the lights went down and a storm interlude played. In the darkness, band members Faith, Ashley, and Moriah took their places before a heavy guitar riff tore through the venue. They kicked off the set with "Champion" and "Athena," immediately energizing the crowd. They sounded tight and played with bravado as they delivered hits from their self-titled debut album and the Find the Beautiful EP.
Moriah then took a moment to speak about Mass Hysteria before launching into the title track. The rest of the main set featured new cuts from the upcoming album, concluding with "Animalistic." After a brief break, the band returned for an encore, closing the night with their debut single, "Hate."
Plush played hard and heavy, and it was clear throughout the night that they still have fun together—the smiles and laughs shared on stage showed genuine camaraderie. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for this band.
