Interview: Manfred Sittmann of Elephants And Stars, New Album Philistine Vulgarity Out June 19, 2026.
Were there any particular events or emotions that shaped the songwriting?
Definitely. One of my biggest criticisms of my lyrics have always been a lack of specificity. With everything happening in the world, I definitely wanted to speak to that with some clarity. Songs like Sanctuary Cities and The Reckoning are direct indictments of what is happening in America right now with the grotesque hypocrisy of "Christians" vilifying refugees in spite of the notion that their alle

Interview with SusAF About New Single, The Great Divider
What inspired the creation of this single?
As an artist, I felt a responsibility to take an aural snapshot of where society has pivoted in the last 10 years… to hold up a mirror so we can see how divided we have become. It’s happened in my family, and in many of my friendships, and I know people all over are feeling a us vs. them mentality, instead of the indivisible nature of our democracy that this country was built on.

Interview: Siobhan Bodrug About Their New Single "Monster"
What inspired the creation of this single?
"Monster" was written in one of our most prolific eras, when we were writing almost every day. I had just gotten out of an extremely toxic relationship and was having difficulty processing everything that had happened. I was angry and frustrated with myself for the way I had handled the situation. And I was super angry about how I had been treated. I kept asking the question “why did I let this happen?”

Interview: Manfred Sittmann of Elephants and Stars Chats About Their New Single, "Take It All", Out 4/17!
What inspired the creation of this single?
The inspiration behind this song was actually a confluence of two things. On one hand, I wanted to write a Rock You Like a Hurricane-style riff rock song (although it actually sounds more like Urge Overkill or Superdrag in its finished form) and on the other, there was a line in an old Gaslight Anthem song that kind of caught my attention. The line is something like "now you're getting drinks for the same boys that once bought y

Interview: Jennifer Foster Chats About Her Upcoming Album- Powerline, Out April 3, 2026
What inspired the theme or concept behind this album?
Many of the songs on this album were inspired by the place I grew up - a small farm in rural New Brunswick, and I wrote it at a time when there was a lot of change going on in my life. Part of the change was letting go of this place that had shaped me.

Interview: Jennifer Foster New Single "Shy" Out Friday!
Interview with Jennifer Foster. New Single "Shy" out Friday February 27, 2026.
What inspired the creation of this single?
This single is part of an album ("Powerline") that’s deeply personal and inspired by the place I grew up. It’s an expression of love and regret, and how we can sometimes wish we could show up for others, or ourselves, in a better way. It’s about hoping for another chance to get it right.

Concert Review and Interview: Shattered Open: Inside 1VERSE’s First American Tour, The Momentary, Bentonville, Arkansas
At The Momentary in Bentonville, Arkansas, 1VERSE did not simply perform. They expanded.
This was not a return. This was a beginning. And beginnings are dangerous in the best way.
Under the creative leadership of CEO Michelle Cho and A&R visionary Joseph Lim, 1VERSE stepped onto an American stage not as a test run, but as a fully realized statement of intent. From the first note, it was clear this was not a group chasing noise. They are building architecture.

Interview: James Clark of The James Clark Institute Chats About New Single, "Reluctantly in Love" Out Friday February 13, 2026
What inspired the creation of this single?
It's me poking fun at myself. Seemingly, I'm not very good with commitment or so I've been told several times in the past. I'm not saying it's true but I currently live all alone.

Interview: Mia McIntosh Chats About Her Upcoming Single, "Are You Sorry", Out 2/13/2026
What inspired the creation of this single?
"Are You Sorry" was inspired by stories I heard from people about bad relationships they had been in. It made me think about how they were feeling and what a song from their point of view would sound like. I like writing from other people's point of view because I love storytelling and I've been writing stories since I was little.

Interview: Denise Marsa Chats About New Music Video for "Hole" (Until Dawn Remix)
What inspired the concept for the music video?
I wanted to bring light to the song, as it is a pretty heavy topic and I thought what better place than a music store. Music is healing for so many and I wanted to feature an environment that was supportive and warm. Of course, my neighborhood music store was the perfect spot and when I asked Jeff Slatnick if we could film the music video there, he said yes, without a pause.

Interview: Get to Know Penny Rebels
What first got you into music?
JB - My parents record collection, and long drives with my folks listening to cassettes.
EWC - My earliest memory was finding my dad's vinyl collection, and it was a record by The Shadows. I remember the cover had a Vox amp with some Fender Stratocasters leaning up against it. I think it had a song called Apache on it…
