What inspired the theme or concept behind this album? There were quite a few conversations with friends ranging in different topics, but childhood trauma is one we kept coming back to. I realized when I went to go write for the album, I wanted a different song to relate to things we might've experienced growing up.

Canadian hard rockers April Wine are currently concluding a U.S. – Canadian tour with reformed fellow north-of-the-border rockers Triumph. The tour began in April with a couple shows in Florida, followed by a full tour across Canada. The two bands are currently on an eastern-midwestern U.S. run currently scheduled to wrap up in Boston on June 6, with a rescheduled Montreal show ending the tour in their home country on June 10.

What inspired the creation of this single? As an artist, I felt a responsibility to take an aural snapshot of where society has pivoted in the last 10 years… to hold up a mirror so we can see how divided we have become. It’s happened in my family, and in many of my friendships, and I know people all over are feeling a us vs. them mentality, instead of the indivisible nature of our democracy that this country was built on.

What inspired the creation of this single? "Monster" was written in one of our most prolific eras, when we were writing almost every day. I had just gotten out of an extremely toxic relationship and was having difficulty processing everything that had happened. I was angry and frustrated with myself for the way I had handled the situation. And I was super angry about how I had been treated. I kept asking the question “why did I let this happen?”
