From a cursory perspective, the actions that Greg Mendez takes while performing on stage may be misconstrued as nonchalance. I’ve seen a lot of incredible vocalists over the years, but after seeing Spiritbox and Evanescence together, I’m still thinking about just how unreal the night was. Spiritbox came out ready to go from the first song. Courtney LaPlante somehow makes the impossible look effortless, switching from beautiful melodies to brutal screams. The entire band is full of pure talent and the energy coming off the stage kept building with every song.

The Summer School Tour ’26 brought together six of the most exciting names in the pop-punk scene for a night built around community, loud guitars, and nonstop energy. Featuring Pretty Pity, Chase Petra, South Arcade, Games We Play, Winona Fighter, and Honey Revenge, the lineup proved that pop-punk is alive and well.
