Concert Review: The Metalcore Spring Break Tour comes to Charleston South Carolina! The Devil Wears Prada Causes Complete Madness!

On May 14th, 2025- The Devil Wears Prada performed at the Charleston Music Hall in Charleston, South Carolina on their “Metalcore Spring Break” tour with special guests: Acres, Kingdom of Giants, and Erra. Every time a tour comes to this venue; it's always such a memorable night in my opinion. The Charleston Music Hall is right in downtown Charleston surrounded by delicious eateries and historical buildings that truly brings out the beauty of this city.

Acres, Kingdom of Giants, and Erra put on phenomenal sets that left me speechless, but my heart lies within The Devil Wears Prada set. Every time I've seen this band perform; they put on one of the best performances. I believe this is my fourth time seeing this band live and photographing them, but they are so inviting with their live performance. There is so much emotional depth in every song that they performed and even after years of being a band; they truly crafted their sound to be able to keep old listeners intrigued and capture attention to new audiences There was so much anticipation throughout their whole set that erupted into complete chaos with mosh pits and crowd surfers. While I was in the photo pit; I could not stop focusing on Mike Hranica (Leads Vocals) because of how chaotic he is on stage. If he needed to get his steps in for the day; he accomplished that during his set because I’ve never seen a musician go from one side of the stage to the other countless times speed walking and not lose tone in his vocals. After the photo pit; I went into the crowd and it was impossible for me to navigate through because of how crowded it was. I saw so many friends that night and met internet friends as well which made the night more memorable. Being able to photograph a nostalgic band and be around friends who support me and watching them scream along to the band is the reason why I continue to do what I do. The Devil Wears Prada’s light production was a photographer’s dream at times because of how bright it was on stage, but each musician in the band brought the intense heat that matched the humidity of South Carolina's weather. And if anyone knows South Carolina’s humidity and heat; it’s HOT! A memorable moment was talking to one of my friends at the show and listening to them speak about how they haven't seen the headliner for many years and how it healed their inner teenage self seeing them that night. For the last night of the show; you would have never guessed it was the last night because each band performed like it was the first day. You can sense that every band on the lineup truly loves what they do and they are all about crowd engagement. It was yet another memorable show that will forever stay in my heart.
