Music News: LA ROCK BAND ROSECOLOREDWORLD ANNOUNCE DEBUT ALBUM THE GIFT OF DESPERATION
October 16, 2026 – Today, Los Angeles rock band rosecoloredworld announces their debut album, the gift of desperation, set for release on December 11 via Nettwerk. Born from a rapid succession of difficult events—which included their previous label shutting down in December 2024, relocating to San Diego due to Los Angeles wildfires, and navigating a loved one entering rehab—the band bet everything on their music and flew to Atlanta to record with ZK Productions (Cartel, Mayday Parade, The Paradox). To celebrate the album announcement, the band has released the fierce track "follow me after," a song that perfectly captures the terrifying push and pull of falling for someone and the vulnerability of showing them every side of yourself. “The song is basically the internal dialogue of allowing yourself to free fall after being hurt,” shares vocalist Rae.
That profound honesty acts as the driving engine for the entire record, which pairs brutal truths with anthemic hooks. Beyond the new single, the album features deep emotional touchstones like “being sad is overrated,” a restorative song written about severe depression, and “all my life,” which zooms out from life's internal noise to find perspective and light. These incredibly personal tracks follow the massive viral breakout of their previous single “hanging on (by a thread),” which originally helped land the band their new home at Nettwerk.
Bringing their energetic live show to the masses, rosecoloredworld is making 2026 their biggest touring year yet. The band is continuing to tour alongside pop-punk legends Bowling for Soup, making a stop at Vans Warped Tour Orlando along the way. This monumental run of shows follows a packed history of heavy-hitting tours, including The Dangerous Summer, opening a sold-out show for Sum 41 in San Diego and The Used at The Wiltern, and delivering a standout performance at Set It Off’s Why Worry Fest. Formed just before the pandemic, Rae (vocals) and Addison (vocals/guitar) first connected at a Hollywood birthday party and named their musical project after the John Lennon–style rose-colored glasses they both frequently wore. Cultivating a sound heavily influenced by early 00s icons like Simple Plan, blink-182, Green Day, and Paramore, the band has steadily grown into a formidable force in the modern alternative scene. Following the release of their 2025 debut EP beauty in the breakdown, they have rapidly earned the reputation of being "your favorite band’s favorite band". Their undeniable momentum has caught the attention of heavyweights like Sleeping With Sirens, Bowling For Soup, and Simple Plan, bringing their musical journey full circle. With their upcoming debut album and a recent partnership with To Write Love On Her Arms, rosecoloredworld continues to build a safe, celebrated space for fans from all walks of life, delivering music that feels like "audible medicine".
