Tess Becket is releasing her latest single, "craving," on all streaming platforms on Valentine’s Day. The song is currently available for pre-save.
“craving” is a breezy, early-2000s-style pop track capturing the hopeful, heart-fluttering beginnings of a queer relationship. Glossy and romantic, it evokes low-rise jeans, lip gloss, and dusk-lit drives through the city. Drawing inspiration from Natasha Bedingfield, Vanessa Carlton, and Michelle Branch, “craving” blends warm nostalgia with a fresh, modern perspective, making it a perfect fit for feel-good pop, queer love songs, and romantic throwback playlists.
“This is the first time in my life that I can write about love in a positive way. I met my girlfriend by chance on a trip to DC, and wrote this song about the hopefulness that comes with giving your heart to someone new.”
Becket released her debut single, “Toxic,” in early 2023 to acclaim from a variety of publications. She has since gone on to release two more singles, “Drink” and “Los Angeles,” and spent June 2025 touring the East Coast with fellow indie artist, Jessie Lynn.
As with her previous releases, Becket co-produced and wrote “craving” herself. Production and engineering credits include Becket, Holden Cowburn, Lindsey Maverick and Maria Savage. The track was mastered by Piper Payne (Steven Universe, LeAnn Rimes) with Neato Mastering.
Becket is an independent singer-songwriter, producer and audiovisual engineer based in York, Pennsylvania whose songwriting explores chronic illness, sobriety and lesbian relationships. Currently, she tours internationally as a videographer and works as a front-of-house engineer at local venues. Her experience working in the music and live event industry brings a unique amount of technical knowledge to her productions.
