What inspired the creation of this single?

“Freedom” was born out of a deep internal conflict — a feeling of being trapped in a world that demands so much conformity, while your soul is screaming for truth and liberation. I was reflecting on the systems we live in — political, social, economic — and how they often strip us of authenticity. But more than anything, it was inspired by the need to break free from those inner walls we build ourselves. It’s a cry for spiritual and emotional emancipation.

What story or message does the song convey?

At its core, the song is about the tension between the desire to live freely and the compromises we make to survive. It’s brutally honest. There’s sarcasm in it — lines like “I will obey if I’m getting paid” — but beneath that, there’s a deep yearning for change. The message is: yes, we’re stuck in a broken world… but we still carry the spark to imagine something better, to resist, to reconnect.

Can you tell us about the creative process?

“Freedom” came to life during a spontaneous late-night writing session. We weren’t trying to write a “hit” or a debut — we were just channeling energy, honestly and freely. The lyrics and melodies came together naturally, almost as if they had been waiting to emerge. Later, we refined and recorded the track at Los Lobos Records, in Punta de Lobos, Chile. That space, surrounded by cliffs and ocean, amplified everything we felt. But the spirit of the song remained raw, urgent, and unfiltered — just like that first night.

How does this song differ from your previous releases?

It actually is our first release — this is the debut single from Consequence of Energy. So in that sense, it doesn’t just differ — it defines who we are. What sets “Freedom” apart within the context of our upcoming album is its directness. It’s stripped down, emotionally sharp, and intentionally raw. There’s less layering, fewer experimental elements than what you’ll hear in the rest of the record. This song isn’t dressed up — it’s coming straight at you.

What challenges did you face while writing or recording?

The hardest part was emotional honesty. I had to stop trying to make things sound “cool” and just say what was actually inside. There were moments in the studio where I felt exposed — like I was screaming out things I usually try to hide. Also, finding the right balance between rawness and clarity in production was a challenge. We didn’t want it to feel polished — we wanted it to bleed.

Did you experiment with any new instruments, techniques, or styles?

Compared to the rest of the album, “Freedom” is actually the least experimental in terms of instrumentation. There are no flutes, ritual chants, or ancestral drums on this one — and that was intentional. We wanted to let the message be the center.

That said, vocally it’s where I pushed myself the hardest. I explored different ways of screaming — not to sound “heavy,” but to transmit pain. Every scream was recorded in a moment of real emotional intensity. I didn’t fake it or perform it — I lived it. That honesty became part of the sound.

Is there a personal connection or story tied to the lyrics?

Absolutely. It came during a time when I felt completely disconnected — from myself, from others, from the world. There was this internal war between staying silent and speaking out, between adapting and rebelling. Writing “Freedom” was like standing in front of a mirror and confronting my own fears. Every word comes from a place I’ve lived through. It's personal, but I know it’s not just my story — a lot of people feel this same inner conflict.

Have you performed it live yet, and what was the audience’s reaction?

Yes — we performed “Freedom” live for the first time at Surf Festival in Punta de Lobos, Chile. We shared the stage with legendary artists like The Wailers, Ana Tijoux, and others, in front of an audience of around 15,000 people. The energy was electric. When we played "Freedom," we could feel the connection instantly — people raised their fists, some sang along even though it was their first time hearing it, and the silence after the final note hit just as hard as the sound itself. It was a powerful confirmation that this song speaks to something real.

Is this single part of a larger project, like an album or EP?

Yes — “Freedom” is the first single from our debut album We Are One. The album dives deep into themes of duality — love and war, technology and nature, awakening and collapse. It’s a cosmic rock journey, combining heavy riffs with spiritual undertones, ancestral textures, and raw human emotion. “Freedom” is the spark that lights the fuse.

Anything Else You'd Like Your Fans to Know.

This project isn’t just music — it’s a call. A reminder that we’re not alone in our longing for something real, something more human. If this song resonates with you, it means you’re already part of this energy. We’re building a community that chooses connection over competition, truth over noise, soul over ego. This is just the beginning. Let’s wake the world up — together.
