On April 30th, 2025- While She Sleeps performed at The Underground in Charlotte, NC with special guests; Vended and Bury Tomorrow. That night was their last night of this tour and the crowd didn’t disappoint. The amount of crowd surfing that happened at this show might’ve been the most I’ve seen in a long time at a show.
While She Sleeps became one of my favorite bands a few years ago and I actually saw them last year in Atlanta on tour with Architects I believe. That was the first time I’ve seen them live and their stage presence was top tier. So when I saw that they were touring again, I didn’t want to miss the opportunity! Before the band even went on stage the attendees at the barricade were all talking about how excited they were to see them. There was even a younger kid near the barricade with their dad clapping his hands because he was very excited. The best part of these shows are always the attendees in my opinion because without them; there wouldn’t be any shows. Musicians would not have a career without these dedicated fans. When While She Sleeps entered the stage; the chaos began almost instantly. Lawrence Taylor (Vocals) is one of my favorite vocalist’s because of how interactive he is with the crowd as well as his other band mates. It’s either him going onto the barricade to sing with the attendees, dancing on stage, or screaming right into the photographer’s faces making the photos even more intense. When the band performed ANTI-SOCIALl; I couldn’t help, but to scream along because between that song and TO THE FLOWERS; I felt like I was in such an euphoric moment. And everything around me didn’t matter at all. After I got done in the photo pit; I started to walk around the venue and when I tried getting closer; I got stuck in the mosh pit the second I saw this person coming towards me; I ran out so fast. I saw a friend of mine and he helped me get out of that situation quickly! I went to the corner near the stage to take in the performance of While She Sleeps instead of taking photos. The vocalist is so energetic and versatile which made the performance more memorable for me. When a vocalist shows the love for their music they created; it makes it more unforgettable for everyone because we love to see musicians on stage doing what they love.
And that was it! The night was filled with laughter and meeting internet friends. And enjoying music that brings everyone together to help us forget the negative aspects of our lives that we internally keep inside.
