From June 20-22, 2025, Franklin County Fairgrounds in Greenfield, MA, welcomed the Green River Festival. It was a celebration of music and community. 15,000 attendees this year. People arriving all over New England were present for the three days event. The festival features music, food vendors, craft beer, hot air balloons, and other activities.
Named one of "fifty essential summer music festivals" by the New York Times, the Green River Festival in Western Massachusetts was once again a spectacular celebration of music and community: a world class lineup of over 40 acts on four stages.
More than music, the public enjoyed the best in local food, beer and wine, handmade crafts at The Makers Market, a wide array of kids activities and camping. NPR recently wrote, "The Green River Festival lineup gets more legendary by the year."
The 2025 event welcomed a list of well-known groups with some very talented artists. This year's headliners on the Main Stage have been Mt. Joy on Friday, Courtney Barnett on Saturday and Waxahatchee on Sunday.

Well organized and full of ambiance, the 39th Green River Festival has welcomed several thousands of fans. "We are a world class music festival with a laid-back atmosphere," said festival director John Sanders in an interview with The Republican.
A celebration of music and community, the festival has established itself as one of the best summer music festivals in New England. With a reputation for being as authentic as it gets while offering good vibes, cozy camping, and great live music, the three-day event in Greenfield was phenomenal.
"Our festival is reflective of the entire community of Western Massachusetts, and it's our goal to make everyone welcome," Sanders said.
