On May 13th, 2025- Nostalgic early 2000’s band Pierce The Veil performed at the PNC Music Pavilion on their “I Can’t Hear You” world tour with special guests: Daisy Grenada and Sleeping With Sirens. I’ve been to this place for many shows throughout the last two years and that day I’ve never seen the place so packed. I wish I could give the best imagery of what I saw at the event.
Opening the night was the female duo; Daisy Grenade and I never personally listened to this band before, but they set the tone for the rest of the event. I knew by the name it was female fronted, but I was not expecting two women to come onto the stage. They both were very interactive with the crowd and waving at the attendees throughout the performance. There were two young females at the barricade that sang along to the first threes songs while we were in the pit and I swore they were singing so loud that it made it hard to listen to the duo on stage. That's not a bad thing though; it showed the excitement and love they have for the band. Id rather people scream along instead of just standing there and not even being active during sets.
Next up was the legendary nostalgic band Sleeping With Sirens. Everyone who knows me knows I've never listened to this band before, but after their performance that night; I left the venue loving the band. The second the musicians went on stage the packed venue caused the ground to shake by their screams of enjoyment. And I wish I were ear plugs during their set because I was not prepared for the amount of screaming that I heard. Kellin Quinn (Vocals) came on stage and I know of Kellin and I noticed he hasn't aged one bit. When the band started to perform; I know for some people at the barricade; this whole performance made their year. And I could sense some of those individuals being healed by listening to songs they grew up listening to throughout the years. Kellin had to be one of the most energetic vocalist I've photographed in the last two years besides the heavier vocalist in The Devils Wears Prada. His voice was angelic and so versatile that it blew my mind that someone can be this good live especially being able to sing while being so chaotic on stage.
It was time for Pierce The Veil to come on and I don’t think I ever heard the crowd cheer like this. To be honest; I never listened to this band before. I didn’t grow up listening to Pierce The Veil or even Sleeping With Sirens, but 99% of my friends did. I work at Emo Nite, so that’s the only reason I know of Pierce The Veil. I decided to photograph this event because the band has a lot of meaning to one of my friends which made this event more memorable in my opinion. I love photographing bands that truly impacted my friends in a very positive way that helped them throughout their teenage years. As I was standing in the photo pit, I saw so many different generations excited to see this band. The best part was seeing my generation enjoying themselves the most because we grew up when these bands were upcoming at Vans Warped Tour and when the fan base wasn’t that large. To be able to see this pavilion filled to the max was astonishing to see because this is what music is all about. The attendees at the barricade went absolutely insane when Pierce The Veil went onto the stage. In all honesty; I think this event was the loudest I’ve ever heard fans scream or even sing along to songs. You could truly sense the love in the crowd. Like I stated before, I never listened to this band, but I was shocked how well their performance was. I am 31 years old and to finally give this band a chance after all these years; I was impressed. During their set; I saw tears streaming down attendee’s faces, special signs they made, and I felt like I was experiencing a once in a lifetime show for most people. It was truly magical in my opinion. I left the show that night falling in love with a band that most of my friends had been listening to for over a decade. Pierce The Veil is the true definition of dedication and inspiration.
