Music Review: Pinknoise Cranks Up the Chaos with New Banger ‘TALK TALK

ree

Pinknoise returns with a ferocious new single, “TALK TALK.” This song is pure raw emotion at its finest. It’s heavy, unapologetic, and angry, but within that chaos, it’s pure and beautiful.

The introduction of "TALK TALK" begins with a dark synth electronic vibe; either way, it immediately captured my attention. Then you hear Kacey Foxx enter in with the lyrics "your lips are moving, but nothing's making sense," followed by a raw scream and a powerful beat that will make you want to headbang along. This introduction reminds me of something that Bring Me The Horizon would do, and it's straightforward, effective, and it works so well for this song.

The verse maintains the raw emotion and energy through the powerful beat and Kacey Foxx's raw vocals. This is such a hard-hitting verse with its unapologetic beatdown. It really showcases Kacey Foxx’s raw vocal talent and the energy and anger behind this song.

The guitar riffs in the chorus have a different feel compared to the verse. The chorus features a more open chord progression, whereas the verse is punchy and abrupt. The lyrics in the chorus are straightforward, which coincides with the instrumentals. I can already envision this song being played live, with Kacey passing the mic to the crowd and letting them scream the chorus back to the band.

I do appreciate the slight break between the chorus and the second verse. It offers the listeners a brief pause from the raw intensity that “TALK TALK” brings. I also enjoy how Pinknoise incorporates other elements and riffs into the second verse. It transitions from the familiar riff that the listeners know and adds in a surprise breakdown and build-up to the chorus. While the breakdown and build-up come as a surprise, it flows so well with the song, and I wouldn’t change a thing.

The interlude and the bridge blend seamlessly with “TALK TALK.” This track is aggressive, bold, and in your face, but after the second chorus, the listeners hear another aspect of Pinknoise. It starts out with an electronic interlude and Kacey singing, but with effects on the vocals. Then, the band joins in and you can hear Kacey sing clean. It remains raw and emotional like the rest of the song, but it’s not as aggressive and becomes more of a vibe. The song ends with a breakdown that matches the vibes of the bridge.

The lyrics on “TALK TALK” address the challenging subject of negativity on social media. Although I am not a part of the LGBTQIA+ community, I have immense admiration and love for those who live authentically. It truly is a beautiful thing to see when people embrace who they are and love who they are. Unfortunately, there are people on social media who don’t share this perspective and spread negativity and hate towards those with differing views. “TALK TALK” is the perfect unapologetic response to those who spread such negativity and hate.

The production on “TALK TALK” perfectly matches the tone of the song. It’s raw, angry, full of energy, and highlights another side of Pinknoise that is different from songs like “Flesh and Bone” and “Why Are We Calling It Love?” I have also had the opportunity to listen to “TALK TALK” on multiple devices, and it sounds excellent on every one.

TALK TALK” is an explosive track from Pinknoise that really showcases their talent for bending genres and creating a unique sound. After listening to “TALK TALK”, I can tell that Pinknoise is more than just a band seeking success. They are a band that is trying to build a community where it's free from judgment about identity or style. You can stream "TALK TALK" on all major platforms and watch for Pinknoise when they tour.
