On November 21, 2025- Memphis May Fire performed at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach with special guests; If Not For Me, Nevertel, and Rain City Drive. The night started at Peaches Corner 20 minutes away from the venue which has been around since 1937! Peaches Corner has their famous foot long hotdog and everyone who knows me personally knows that I do love my hotdogs. What's the best way to start the night? Get hotdogs and embrace music that brings everyone together.
Opening the night was one of Thriller Records talented metalcore bands; If Not For Me. Before the band went on stage; you could hear the whispers from attendees as well as those screaming at the top of their lungs full of excitement. The anticipation almost made me explode because I haven't seen this band perform in a very long time and the growth has been astounding to see. The dynamic between all the musicians in the band creates such a cathartic feeling with Patrick's smooth vocals being so versatile from heavy to soft and Cody's drumming style that's so sharp and precise. We can't forget about Hayden on guitar and Zac on bass that truly creates an unruly dynamic when performing together. The band radiates such youth and enthusiasm which blew over the crowd
Next up was Nevertel and I haven't seen them since they performed with Beartooth. This band
was filled with adrenaline the second they stepped on stage. The two vocalist's in the band; Jeremy and Raul creates such a euphoric atmosphere that had the crowd going insane. Both musicians would grab attendees phones from the barricade and record parts of their set and Raul when into the crowd twice. This band might be one of the most engaging musicians I've seen at a show in a very long time and attendees were honestly respectful towards them. Nevertel's performance was intoxicating with the hybrid dynamic that they have almost reminding us of Linkin Park between cleans, heavy, and rapping parts throughout all the songs that were performed.
Next was Rain City Drive who is also part of Thriller Records and I honestly saw them once in Columbia SC about two years ago I believe. I personally don't listen to this band that much, but once they made their appearance on stage; it was like everything amplified to the max potential. From the beginning of the first song when the notes were sung; it truly captivated the attendees quickly which caused them to start singing along. Matt (Vocals) has vocals that has such an emotive delivery that fully creates an euphoric soundscape mixed with the instrumentation. "Medicate Me" was the last song that they performed and the charm this single had on the crowd made it even more infectious. Ending the set with this intimate and danceable single showed that music can be fun. And it allows you to be who you want to be without judgement. During this song; you can see grown men holding hands and dancing near the pit. You can see parents dancing with their children. The best song to the end the set!
Finally it was Memphis May Fires turn! The last time I saw this band perform was at this venue. so being able to experience their high energy set again made me really excited. The moment their set started; it felt like we were embraced in a cloth of chaos. Matty (Vocals) is one of my favorite live vocalist's because he truly engages with the crowd and excels at providing storytelling through his lyricism with each song and as a fan myself; it helps us resonate deeper. When they performed "Shapeshifter" it felt like I was in a cinematic movie between the light production, smoke machines, and attendees crowd surfing constantly to the point where I felt like the security guards stayed at the barricade. This song echoed through House of Blues leaving me speechless and through every breath of Matty; you can truly sense the dedication this man has to put on a memorable set. I started to feel really sick during their set, so I couldn't stay for their whole set, but after the first three songs; I went near the pit area to get the full experience and as I was scanning the crowd; you can sense the admiration attendees had for this band. The waves of energy you received by the musicians and the attendees surrounding you is a feeling that makes you feel like you are high. Makes you realize that no matter your age, gender, or anything else in between that may make you feel like you don't belong; music like this will bring everyone together.
