Lzzy (Hale) and Joe (Hottinger) Living Room Sessions Tour is an intimate gathering of friends and Freak Family. The Halestorm duo is out reliving their early days, just the two of them, armed with a voice and an acoustic guitar. They brought their living room to the stage filled with dim lighting and a rock and roll basement vibe.
The set featured stories, stripped down versions of their biggest hits, B sides, teenage musings and covers of their favorite songs from their inspirations. Lzzy and Joe interacted with the crowd on a personal level, knowing many of us in the audience. The banter was fun and lighthearted.
The show was phenomenal even though Lzzy had just cancelled a couple of shows to knock out a cold. The stripped down nature of the show was raw and vulnerable. Without the mask of the band, you could feel every emotion. The personal relationship between Lzzy and Joe was in full view which was taboo for so long. In the end this show was immersing us in the 20+ years of their lives together. From their early days playing in the Philly bars, through their first record, to a brand new song Lzzy had just written that week. You cannot fake the chemistry that has held this band together for decades through the trials and tribulations of the entertainment industry.
This tour is just another beginning. The whole band has a new album arriving this year, a European Tour with Iron Maiden and lots of other shows in the works. This tour wraps up Saturday in Burlington, Vermont. It’s going to be a cold one so come on in to the rock show and warm up.
