On Thursday September 25, 2025, at Soundcheck Studios in Pembroke, MA, Reprise, a band that formed to reprise the Phish experience, composed of Cal Kehoe, longtime frontman for Pink Talking Phish (guitar), Adrian Tramontano (Twiddle, Kung Fu, and The Breakfast) on drums, Scott Chasolen a founding member of Ulu, keyboardist of The Machine, a Pink Floyd tribute, on Keys, multi-instrumentalist and composer Chris DeAngelis (The Machine, Kung Fu, and The Machine) on bass, performed in the South Shore of Massachusetts a night of classic Phish shows. The band with all-star New England musicians recreated the 7/12/99 Phish show at the Tweeter Center in Mansfield, MA, which was then known as Great Woods.
The 1999 show featured the first electric version of "Foreplay/Long Time" and included songs like "Down with Disease," "Twist", and "David Bowie." The band also introduced "What's the Use."
Being a long-time photographer who shot hundreds and hundreds of live music concerts, this was my first experience listening to Phish's classic songs played with brio by a group of talented artists.
The show brought several hundreds of fans to Pembroke. They were all curious to see what Phish's music could be when performed by a tribute band. Reprise, a band that does for Phish what Dark Star Orchestra does for the Dead, was terrific on stage. Phish's experience with members of Kung Fu, Pink Talking Phish, Marble Eyes, The Breakfast, The Machine and more was a successful night of music. Recreating Iconic Phish shows by the members of the reprise band was a monumental music project that would stay forever in the memory of the audience.
