Concert Review: MARC ROBERGE AT SOUNDCHECK STUDIOS

On Monday August 25, 2025, Soundcheck Studios in Pembroke, MA, welcomed Marc Roberge of O.A.R. with Aldous Collins and Hutch to celebrate the anniversary of the Plymouth Bay House. Located in Plymouth, Massachusetts, Plymouth Bay House has served the South Shore for over 35 years, providing vocational and educational resources, affordable meals, as well as a welcoming space for learning life skills, and building meaningful connections.

This was an amazing show as both Marc Roberge solo and Hitch and Aldous Collins were exceptional!!! The concert was a benefit event for Plymouth Bay House, the mental health wellness community for adults with disabilities and mental illness located in Plymouth, Mass.

Brian “Hitch” Hitchings, the local South Shore performer who to me can play anything, is great during his entire performance. He is known for sincere vocals and intimate acoustic grooves. Aldous Collins another South Shore based singer/songwriter with infectious energy, who blends Folk, Rock and Reggae into soulful and heartfelt feel good tunes, as well as Brian has been terrific.

This was their first time playing together and they were awesome!!

At around 9:00 p.m. the headliner, Marc Roberge, the lead singer of the multi-platinum-selling indie rock band O.A.R., hit the stage. A familiar name to many who enjoy live music, Roberge is widely recognized as the lead singer and primary songwriter for the popular American band O.A.R, which stands for Of A Revolution. His voice and songwriting have shaped the sound of the group for decades. Playing a list of songs that he mixed with rock, reggae, and pop, Roberge put on a terrific solo show at Soundcheck Studios.

His energy, his passion and dedication resonated well with the audience estimated at several hundreds. The sold out show was a great success for the artists, the venue, and more importantly for Plymouth Bay House, giving it publicity with donations and a better sense of the educational side of that institution dedicated to mental health wellness.
