Concert Review: Lynyrd Skynyrd with Foreigner and Six Gun Sally at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts

On August 22, 2026, more than 13,000 fans packed the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts, to see classic rock mainstays Lynyrd Skynyrd and Foreigner reunite for the Double Trouble Double Vision Tour. The show was exceptional.

Six Gun Sally opened the night. Promoting their singles, Sittin' Pretty and Easy Love, and their latest album, Stand Up, the group delivered a terrific performance.

The premier Pittsburgh-based Southern rock group, known for its slick production, did not disappoint, even while performing in a large venue. The band's seven members were exceptional.

Aimee Jane Williams (lead vocals), Dave Barbe (bandleader, drums, and percussion), Allen G. (lead guitar and lead vocals), Jeff Yeckel (rhythm guitar and backing vocals), Dan Rach (keyboards), Stan Brusoski (bass and backing vocals), and Billy Gus (percussion and drums) are talented musicians.

As the opener, the group played several hit songs. However, Six Gun Sally's cover of the Great Society version of Somebody to Love was the most interesting song performed by the band during the show.

There wasn't much time for a break. At 8:15 p.m., Foreigner, the co-headliner, hit the stage.

The British-American rock band, formed in New York in 1976, was terrific. The band's lineup, including lead guitarist, keyboardist, and vocalist Mick Jones, bassist and keyboardist Jeff Pilson, keyboardist Michael Bluestein, rhythm and lead guitarist Bruce Watson, drummer Chris Frazier, lead vocalist Luis Maldonado, and guitarist and bassist John Roth, delivered a phenomenal performance.

Widely regarded as one of classic rock's most significant bands, Foreigner's music features a blend of rock and pop elements, resulting in numerous hits such as I Want to Know What Love Is and Cold as Ice. Known for energetic live performances that are often described as high-energy and memorable, Foreigner delivered one of the best live shows at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts, further reinforcing its reputation as a powerhouse in the classic rock genre.

After a 90-minute performance, Foreigner left the stage. Following a short break to install and connect new equipment, Lynyrd Skynyrd entered the stage. After a taped introduction featuring Van Halen's Panama, the band launched into a combination of songs: Workin' for MCA, What's Your Name, and That Smell. Immediately, Lynyrd Skynyrd's music had the audience on its feet.

People were singing, dancing, and enjoying every moment. The enthusiasm, engagement, and lively participation made it obvious that everyone at the venue was having a great time. I heard the lady next to me say, "This is my best live music experience."

Lynyrd Skynyrd brought the Southern rock spirit to the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts, and the audience went crazy. As the set moved through more hit songs such as Saturday Night Special, I Know a Little, and On the Hunt, the group's most affecting moment came with I Need You.

The audience was on fire, repeating every word of the lyrics:

Lynyrd Skynyrd's performance at the Xfinity Center wasn't just about playing music. It was about delivering a massive live show in a large outdoor venue and satisfying the audience. The band succeeded.
