From July 12 to July 13, 2025, the community in Marshfield, MA, hosted the Levitate Music and Arts Festival. It was more than music; it was a celebration of community, creativity, and faith. With two days of live music, art installations, local food and beverage vendors, artists aircrafts, and more, almost eighteen thousand people (the first day), twelve thousand (the second day), came together to experience the joy of personal connection through music and arts.
Founded in 2003, in its 22th year, the fest has grown into a small celebration of community to become one of the most anticipated and popular summer events in MA. During two days, families and friends were relaxing and enjoying great food, art & crafts sales, and more.
Run by Dan and Jess Hassett, owners of Levitate Surf Shop, the festival changed over the years.
Beginning as a “backyard barbecue”, Marshfield’s grassroots Levitate Music and Arts Festival has quietly evolved into a huge music event offering fun activities for the joy of the attendees.
“When we started Levitate, we wanted to celebrate this community through the uplifting power of creativity – It’s been incredible to see what has grown out of these local roots and we’re so excited to see this year’s event come to life” noted Dan Hassett in a statement for the 2025 lineup announcement.
Dan continued: “We’re especially proud that the values around community, creativity and connectedness to nature have only deepened through the years, and we’re grateful to fans and community who have helped shape the event to be what it is today.”
The Festival this year featured an impressive lineup of about 25 groups and more of them from New England. Leading the lineup for the first day were a mix of rock, reggae, funk, indie, country, and soul acts including: The Elovaters, Stick Figure, The Revivalists, Ripe, Protoje, Dogs in a Pie, Mihali, Fai Laci, Hush Club, Hans Williams, Maya Manuela.
A list of impressive bands performed during the second day of the festival. The list included: Dispatch, Still Woozy, Thundercat, The Elovaters (second time), Lawrence, Josiah, Bonnevilles, Linka Moya, Top House, Aldous Collins, Lily Fitts, Zane Christopher.
Despite the heat with a temperature up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit, Levitate Music and Arts Festival was great for thousands and thousands of fans who attended the event. The two-day festival at the Marshfield Fairgrounds was phenomenal. Levitate once again has established its reputation for being one of the best festivals in the U.S. offering good food, good vibes, and great live music.
