Concert Review: Hounds of the Underground Tour: If Not For Me, Windwaker, and Colorblind at The Filmore, St. Paul, MN

Updated: 17 hours ago

Who let the dogs out?! Because the Hounds of the Underground Tour with If Not For Me, Windwaker, and Colorblind came through to St. Paul, Minnesota on 5/16/2026. I can’t think of a better name for this tour, because each of these bands have been making themselves known, and are more of the… lets say, underDOG’S, in the scene right now? Get it? Okay, no more dog puns, I had to.

If Not For Me:

If Not For Me kicked off the night with “Retrograde,” one of their newer singles released

last October and wasted no time setting the tone. This was my third time seeing them live, and they continue to prove themselves as one of the most consistently impressive bands on the circuit right now. Their performances are always a fun time. Vocals are sharp, instrumentation is tight, and the energy is relentless from start to finish.

Frontman Patrick Glover commands the stage with ease, seamlessly shifting between powerful cleans and aggressive vocals. Early highlights like “Broken Throne” and “No Thanks to You” quickly got the crowd moving, while tracks like “Feel Me Now” to close out the night, that had everyone singing along.

On a stacked co-headlining bill, If Not For Me didn’t just open the show, they set the bar.

Setlist:

1. Retrograde

2. Broken Throne

3. Alone

4. No Thanks to You

5. Tragedy

6. Say It to My Face

7. Unholy

8. I Don't Wanna Be Here

9. Demons

10. Blameless

11. Feel Me Now

Windwaker:

Windwaker were up next, and if there was any question about keeping the energy going, they answered it immediately. From the opening notes of “SIRENS,” the crowd was locked in and ready. There were quite a few younger fans as well that I saw joining the pits with their parents. As a mom myself, I love seeing kids involved in this music

scene, not only is it wholesome, but shows how welcoming the community is to all aged

fans.

Their sound brings a refreshing mix to the lineup, blending heavier moments with electronic and experimental elements that keep you guessing. Tracks like “Reject” and “Fractured State of Mind” hit especially hard live, while “Dopamine Freestyle” gave them a chance to really showcase their versatility.

By the time they closed out with “Tabula Rasa,” the room was fully warmed up and buzzing, which is exactly what you want from a co-headlining set.

Setlist:

1. SIRENS

2. Reject

3. Superstitious Fantasy

4. Click

5. The Wall

6. Fractured State of Mind

7. Apathy

8. Break the Rules

9. Dopamine Freestyle

10. Venom

11. Victory lap

12. Tabula Rasa

Colorblind:

Closing out the night was Colorblind, and personally the band I was most excited for.

Like if not for me, I’ve seen Colorblind 3 times, have photographed them once before, and have been a fan of their music since before they got signed. Colorblind is always a fun time, and it’s amazing how they have grown and evolved over the years.

Starting with “Way Out,” they set the tone early with perfect energy and crowd interaction. They have a way of pulling the audience in, not just through their sound, but through the atmosphere they create on stage.

Colorblind is set to come out with their first full length album “WHO SOLD YOU THIS TRUTH++ WAS IT YOURS TO HOLD” on August 28th and performed a lot of the new material like “Pressure” and one of my personal favorites “Neversleep”. Along with the new songs, they also couldn’t avoid playing older favorites such as “Love Is Red” and “Stay” that had the crowd singing along to every word.

One of the highlights for me was “Ghosts.” “Ghosts” is an emotionally heavy song, about the passing of vocalist Travis Moesley’s brother. The song was dedicated to anyone who lost someone too soon.

Setlist:

1. Way Out

2. Letdown

3. Love Is Red

4. Car Crash

5. At the Wheel

6. Misery Loves Company

7. Stay

8. Needle Eye

9. Pressure

10. Ghosts

11. Neversleep

12. God Complex

Each band brings their unique style, sound, and energy to the stage, and the Hounds of

the Underground Tour is a must-see tour to check out if you have the chance. Check out
