Concert Review: Bush at Wind Creek Events Center in Bethlehem, PA

Bush performed a sold-out solo show at the Wind Creek Events Center on Friday February 20th. The venue had an open pit floor and raised seated sections to each side; there were so many fans in the pit that it overflowed into the concession area behind the venue floor.

While Bush has had some lineup changes over the years the current lineup has been solid since 2010 with the exception of their drummer joining in 2019. Bush is Gavin Rossdale (vocals, guitar), Chris Traynor (guitar), Corey Britz (bass, backing vocals), Nik Hughes (drums).

Bush performed an absolutely electric set. They are such as seasoned live band, this was only their fourth show of the year, and you'd think from their performance that this was a mid-summer gig. The band covered fan favorite radio hits, new songs and everything in between. Opening with Everything Zen, Bullet Holes and Machinehead got the crowd absolutely fired up. Every fan loves these songs whether you have been with them since the beginning or if you are a young new fan.

Bush are touring in support of their newest album I Beat Loneliness. They did four songs from this album; I Am Here to Save Your Life, I Beat Loneliness, Scars and The Land of Milk and Honey. During I Beat Loneliness, singer Gavin Rossdale, sang and danced his way across the stage before jumping down into the pit and over the barricade into the audience. The roar of screams from the fans was deafening. Gavin has been singing his way through the crowd as long as I can remember and this is always a highlight.

Bush started their encore with Swallowed. This performance was so incredibly haunting. It was just Gavin belting out his heart and soul backed by a string track. The audience joined in at times singing along, holding hands and swaying to the beat.

They closed out with one of their biggest hits Comedown. Which was anything but a letdown. The energy of a Bush concert is unmatched. Bush had the whole crowd singing in unison to end out this incredible performance.

If you have never seen Bush live you are missing out on an epic experience. They are out on tour all year. Info can here found here.
