CONCERT REVIEW: BABYLON A.D. AT THE MET IN PAWTUCKET, RI

On May 30, 2025, The Met in Pawtucket, RI, welcomed Babylon A.D. It was a fun night of music. The majority of fans wearing black pants and black T-shirts with the logo of both bands were singing, dancing, and jumping around the room. Some of them stood in front of the stage enjoying the music.

Taking the stage as an opener was All Sinners. The rock band from Boston MA brings metal riffs and mixes them with arena style vocals and guitar leads.

At The Met in Pawtucket, All Sinners were terrific. Their music is remarkably self-assured and the individual performances from all involved make for quite the memorable listening experience. The large crowd whooping and hollering were very excited to see the local band performed on stage. Their line up composed of Mike Golarz, lead guitar and vocals, Nick Testone, guitar and backup vocals, Bruce Morrison base and backup vocals and Roger Chouinard drummer were exceptional and very fantastic with their own blend of 80's rock sound with fresh energy that instantly connects with the audience.

During their set, they performed  songs like " Into the Flames," Buried Alive,"  Deaf From the Echoes"..... It was a terrific performance by the group.

At 9:30 p.m. the headliner Babylon A.D. hit the stage. An American hard rock band from San Francisco Bay area, California, Babylon A.D. was formed in 1987. In 1989, the group with the backing of Arista Records president and industry music mogul Clive Davis participated in a live showcase in Los Angeles. The same year, Babylon A.D. released the hard rock songs "Bang Go the Bells", "Hammer Swings Down" and "The Kid Goes Wild", the latter used for the soundtrack and video for the Orion Pictures movie RoboCop.

Their album Nothing Sacred was released in 1992. The group released two singles, "Bad Blood" and "So Savage the Heart." The band's first lineup was Derek Davis on vocals, guitarist Danny De La Rosa and Ron Freschi, drummer Jamey Pacheco and bassist Robb Reid.

After spending several years with Arista, the band signed with Apocalypse Records in 1999 and released Live in Your Face, a compilation of live tracks recorded at various cities throughout the United States. The band released American Blitzkrieg in 2000. In 2006, Babylon A.D. released In The Beginning. After a long break up, the group regrouped with all original members and released a four-song EP Lost Sessions. They played several shows in the U.S. and Nottingham, England's FireFest Rock Festival. In 2015 the band released Live@XXV to celebrate their 25 years of recording and performing together.  They played on the 2015 Monsters of Rock Cruise, along with Bay Area favorites Y&T, Tesla and Night Ranger as well as other select dates across the United States. Revelation Highway was issued on Frontiers Records on November 10, 2017. In 2023, the band released a third live album, Live Lightning, featuring live performances of 14 of their songs.

The Met in Pawtucket, RI, is a wonderful and unique place, a throwback to another era when you could watch  fantastic shows from the rail. The ambiance was fantastic for these 2 great rock and roll bands. It was an exceptional night of music.
