Black Veil Brides returned to Minneapolis, Minnesota on their North American tour, joined by As December Falls, TX2, and From Ashes to New at The Fillmore. It was a stacked lineup filled with incredible performances, energy, and a strong sense of community. For a Thursday evening, it certainly didn’t feel like one. The crowd showed up early and maintained that energy from start to finish.
As December Falls:
Personally, As December Falls was the band I was most excited to see. As a relatively new fan that hasn’t yet experienced them live, my expectations were high, and they exceeded every single one.
There’s always a unique pressure on the opening act. They’re often the least familiar name on the lineup, tasked with warming up the crowd while many attendees are still filing in. Despite that, As December Falls didn’t just rise to the occasion, but they set the bar for the entire night. Their performance was nothing short of electrifying.
Each member commanded the stage with an infectious presence, and what stood out even more was their chemistry. The genuine interactions between bandmates felt refreshing and authentic. It was clear they were having the time of their lives, and that energy spilled effortlessly into the crowd.
And the crowd responded in kind. Even with the typical early-set challenges, the audience matched the band’s intensity, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere from the very start of the night. It made for an incredibly fun and memorable set.
I brought my daughter along to the show, and when I asked her afterward who her favorite band of the night was, she didn’t hesitate: As December Falls.
If they’re not already on your radar, they absolutely should be.
Setlist:
1. Carousel
2. Everything's On Fire But I'm Fine
3. Mayday
4. I Don't Feel Like Feeling Great

TX2:
TX2 has become a somewhat polarizing name, largely due to the online persona that helped build their fanbase on TikTok, but much of that criticism feels unwarranted. Having seen them live a few times now, I can confidently say TX2 is a band that truly a fun experience to see live.
There’s an undeniable intensity to their performance. Their energy is relentless, to the point where it’s almost difficult to capture. Constant movement, rapid transitions, and an overall sense of controlled chaos that keeps your eyes locked on them. From start to finish, they bring a level of momentum that never lets up.
What makes their set stand out even more is how immersive it feels. At one point, vocalist Evan and guitarist Cam jumped straight into the crowd, joining the mosh pit while finishing out a song. It’s that kind of fearless interaction that blurs the line between performer and audience, pulling everyone deeper into the experience.
They also introduced a new track, “My Confession,” released today, May 28. Hearing it live added an extra layer of excitement, and it slotted seamlessly into their set, maintaining the high-energy atmosphere they had built from the very beginning.
Whether you’re familiar with them or not, TX2 delivers a live show that’s hard to ignore and even harder not to get caught up in once they hit the stage.

From Ashes to New:
From Ashes to New delivered one of the most powerful and cohesive sets of the night. From the moment they stepped on stage, their energy was immediate and unwavering, carrying through every song and keeping the crowd fully engaged. Their presence felt confident and controlled, striking a balance between intensity and precision that made their set stand out.
A defining element of their performance was the dynamic between the two vocalists. It never feels like they competed, they worked in perfect sync feeding off each other’s energy and complementing each other seamlessly. It created a natural flow throughout the set, adding depth and keeping every moment feeling purposeful and engaging.
Their connection with the crowd was equally strong, with consistent interaction that kept the audience locked in from start to finish. One of the standout moments came when they brought out Bethany from As December Falls to perform “Barely Breathing.” It was an exciting crossover that not only elevated the song but also tied the lineup together in a memorable way.
Another aspect that truly set their performance apart was the production, especially the lighting. It didn’t just serve as a backdrop; it felt like an extension of the performance itself. During “Villain,” there was a perfectly timed moment where the stage shifted completely to red in sync with a snap from the vocalist. It was a small but incredibly effective detail that highlighted just how intentional and choreographed their show felt.
From start to finish, From Ashes to New delivered a set that was as polished as it was high-energy one that left a strong and lasting impression.

Black Veil Brides:
Black Veil Brides closed out the night with a set that felt both powerful and deeply nostalgic. From the very beginning, they set the tone by opening with “Knives and Pens” which was a surprising and unforgettable choice that immediately energized longtime fans and established the emotional weight of the performance.
Their setlist struck a perfect balance between older material and tracks from their latest album, VINDICATE, giving fans a chance to relive the band’s earlier days while also showcasing how far they’ve come. The transitions between eras felt seamless, creating a sense of continuity that tied their entire catalog together.
Beyond the music, it was the smaller, more personal moments that stood out. At one point, attention was drawn to a kid at the barricade holding a sign that read it was his first concert. This is a simple but powerful reminder of the band’s lasting impact and ability to connect with fans across generations. Black Veil Brides was one of my first concerts as well back in 2009. So seeing the generations carry the torch is so heartwarming.
Black Veil Brides delivered an experience that felt both celebratory and reflective, bringing the night to a strong and meaningful close.
