Knows Better On New Single
"Dizzy Dirty Daydream"

Friday, November 6, 2026 - Dark-pop breakout, Summer Hoop, lets her worst habits do the talking on her brand new EP, "Self Disrespect", officially out today via Oxide Music. Accompanying today's release is the brand new track "Dizzy Dirty Daydream", a tangled confession of jealousy, fixation, and wanting another chance at something she knows she helped destroy. Listen to "Self Disrespect" HERE. Produced by Austin Coupe (Citizen, Silverstein, Ninth Key), "Dizzy Dirty Daydream" catches Summer Hoop replaying a breakup long after the relationship has ended. Dreams become an excuse to see her ex again, new lovers invite uncomfortable comparisons, and admitting fault does little to quiet the urge to do it all over. Across "Self Disrespect", Summer Hoop explores the difficult balance of wanting to be loved as she is and recognizing the habits that keep getting in the way. Moving between glossy pop hooks and a grittier, heavier undercurrent, today's EP release gives her the room to be fragile, defensive, remorseful, and sometimes contradictory, with an honesty that doesn't always paint a flattering picture. On getting out of her own head and into "Dizzy Dirty Daydream", Summer Hoop shares: “Dizzy Dirty Daydream is the sum of a six-month-long spiral about an ex and how I knew I was the villain of the situation. I felt like my brain was in overdrive, thinking the same thoughts over and over again, and basically ended up just laughing through the pain until eventually, I was okay.” Celebrating the release of "Self Disrespect" and the creative confidence that came with it, Summer Hoop continues: "I’ve made a lot of music and had many special moments in my career thus far that have led me up to what this group of songs means to me. I constantly long for so much change within myself and my surroundings and these songs feel reflective of the humility, beauty, and pain that comes with being a very impulsive but also, reflective person. My brain is a self-made death machine with comical decision making skills and this is the soundtrack to it currently." With the release of "Self Disrespect", Summer Hoop brings a sharper sense of who she is and what she wants to say, pairing the immediacy of pop-rock with a willingness to make herself uncomfortable. For fans of Poppy, Maggie Lindemann, and PVRIS, Summer Hoop is quickly carving out a space of her own in the alternative landscape with her growing catalog and a bold artistic identity rooted in the contrast of beauty and chaos. Following the announcement of her Oxide Music signing, Summer Hoop joined Icon For Hire on a run of Florida dates before heading out for a set of dates supporting Nate Vickers throughout the US. With her "Self Disrespect" EP now released, she's preparing to return to the road yet again for a co-headlining tour with Echos. Be sure to stay tuned for more Summer Hoop news coming soon. |
