Flash Review: The Foo Fighters Release New Single, "Under You" and Announce Live Stream Event

Updated: Jul 30, 2023

The Foo Fighters have had an unexpectedly tumultuous year. With the untimely passing of Taylor Hawkins last year neither the band nor the fans knew what the future would hold. Over the last couple of months they have announced several festival show appearances and have recently announced a new album entitled But Here We Are. The second single, "Under You", dropped yesterday, May17th. Along with the single the band announced that their would be a live stream event on May 21st at 3PM EST. The event is slated to debut performances of new songs and have some behind the scenes footage.

"Under You" is Foo Fighters through and through. Their personal guitar tone, Dave Grohl's vocals and stellar drums. The drumming on the two released tracks is a great homage to Taylor. If you are a fan of the Foo's I dare you to get through this song without shedding a tear. The lyrics speak to their love and loss of their dear brother in music. The lyrics read like a book walking you through a journey of searching for a lost soul. It really pulls at your heart strings.

Even though the band will never be the same without Taylor, I am glad that the Foo Fighters decided to move forward as a band. As painful as it may be healing is always found in music. But Here We Are is set to be release on June 2nd.
