Concert ReviewDaffo w/ Earth 2 Tiffany, Aggie Miller at Elsewhere Zone One, Brooklyn, NY

There were quite a few barriers that concertgoers had to cross on the night of February 7th. If it wasn’t the lack of service at the nearby Jefferson Stop on the L train, it was traversing the below freezing temperatures. If it wasn’t the bitter cold, it was navigating the ice and snow still on the ground from the winter storm two weeks prior. However, even with all of these obstacles, Zone One was as packed as ever for Daffo’s New York headlining show.

Daffo and company breezed through a 50 minute set mainly focused around their latest record Where The Earth Bends, including “Get A Life” and closing the set with “Dagger Song.” The group also played a handful of tracks from their fan favorite EP Pest, including “Poor Madeline” and “Good God.” Daffo leader Gabi Gamberg recognized the temperature and commented how the track “Winter Hat” felt like a particularly apt description of the conditions. While the time may have been short, every moment of Daffo’s set felt full of energy and excitement, as they paced around the stage at any given moment when they weren’t behind the microphone. It was great to see Daffo in their element and a fittingly excited audience at the Where The Earth Bends tour.

Acting as direct support for the show was the Toronto-based folk artist Earth 2 Tiffany. Earth 2 Tiffany explored a wide range of tracks from their discography across their 30 minute set, including the friendship breakup anthem “The Blade,” the beautifully titled “The World Was Big While I Was Small,” and a cover of Nick Drake’s seminal “Place To Be.” Opting to play a mainly solo set, earth 2 Tiffany explored heartbreak and joy in a very acute way that never felt inhibited by the selection of instruments. The Brooklyn stop of the Where The Earth Bends tour was a special stop for Tiffany, as it served as the final show on their first ever tour, something you could tell was a big deal for them.

Acting as local support for the show was New York-based indie songwriter Aggie Miller. Miller’s beautiful, swooping voice carried listeners on a journey throughout the half hour set, mainly pulling from her self-titled debut from 2024 as well as her latest EP, North Star. Miller even played an unreleased song, telling the audience that if they figured out what it was called, they would get a T-Shirt. Miller’s performance was a shining example of New York artistry and a great introduction to the night.

Daffo’s excellent debut record Where The Earth Bends is out now, and you can stream it here..
