Concert Review: The Band Camino — Live at The Salt Shed, Chicago

The Band Camino, accompanied by Almost Monday, rolled into Chicago on their Never Always tour and turned The Salt Shed into a full-force celebration of everything fans love about the Nashville-born rock band. The trio—Spencer Stewart, Jeffery Jordan, and Garrison Burgess—have built a reputation on cathartic lyrics, airtight melodies, and vocals that hit every single time. On this night, they proved once again that their “no bad song” streak isn’t luck, it's craftsmanship.
Joined by touring bassist Sean McHugh, the band delivered a clean, punchy, and dialed-in performance that pushed the audience into a collective frenzy. From the first riff of “Daphne Blue” to the final surge of “What I Want,” the set moved like a well-designed rollercoaster—dynamic, emotional, and impossible to step off.
Photographing this show felt electric. Shooting one of my all-time favorite bands while packed into a pit buzzing with lots of local talent amplified the entire experience. Chicago’s photographer community showed up strong. Being able to share stories, angles, and excitement with both old friends and new faces added its own layer of adrenaline to the night. I can't wait to see what these boys have up their sleeve next. Be on the lookout for their newest song release “Afterthought” on December 3rd.
