The Little Miss Nasty brought their heart racing Dead Dollz tour to Texas for a 5 city stop. I caught their first stop in Austin, TX Thursday April 30th at Come And Take It Live.
The evening's first opener was local rock sensation Mikky & The Doom. Lead Singer, song writer, and founder Mikky Rib has a special blend of catchy pop-rock music with spicy lyrics. Mikky’s music is only rivaled by her stage presence and performance. She is not afraid of her sexuality and it comes through in her music and her show attire. For this night’s performance Mikky dons a leopard print leotard, red leather bustier, black leather boots, and a pimp-a-licious red fur coat. I spoke with one crowd attendee and his main reason for driving 3 hours from Dallas was to Mikky’s set.
West Germany’s Mimi Barks was up next. She blasts on stage and takes command right away. Mimi’s nu-gen electronic alt-rock is dark, heavy, and hard hitting. The crowd was mesmerized by her performance. Mimi joined the audience, mid-way during her set, on the floor to mosh and get the crowd energized for the headliners. She ends her set with a crowd surf before thanking the crowd.
Finally the time has come for Little Miss Nasty to show what they have. And boy do they show us. I had a vague idea of their stage act but really didn’t know what to expect. I wasn’t disappointed. It was an adrenaline inducing, rock burlesque dream. This group of ladies had all the men and women in the venue captivated. Heavy music, eye-popping choreography, and sexy goth outfits (Dead Dollz). For those that don’t know, Little Miss Nasty does more than just dance, they also have original music as well. For the last couple dances they also sang, taking the performance to another level. It was a night not to forget. I’ll be there the next time Little Miss Nasty tours.
