Concert Review: Little Feat at The Tree House Brewing Company’s Summer Stage in South Deerfield, MA

Little Feat performed at The Tree House Brewing Company’s Summer Stage in South Deerfield, MA, on June 2, 2026, at 7:00 PM as part of their Last Farewell Tour. I love classic rock, and Little Feat is one of my favorites. The Summer Stage is a wonderful outdoor venue and perfect for this show. The weather was incredible, and everyone at the sold-out concert was excited to see this fantastic band.

Little Feat has been making music and touring for over 50 years, with many lineup changes. Lowell George first started this band in 1969 after he was fired from The Mothers of Invention. One of the members of the Mothers commented on his “small feet,” and Lowell named the band Little Feat.

Their unique blend of blues, rock, jazz, funk, and Southern soul warmed the hearts of their dedicated fans and newcomers alike. These extraordinary musicians performed a very tight set from their large catalog of music. Little Feat also released a new single, “Feathers and a Smile,” a previously unreleased song written by band co-founder Lowell George.

The two original members who have been with the band since 1969 are Billy Payne (keyboards and vocals, co-founder with Lowell George) and Sam Clayton (percussion and vocals). Other great musicians include Kenny Gradney (bass) and Fred Tackett (guitar, mandolin, trumpet). The newer members are Scott Sharrard (guitar, mandolin, and lead vocals since 2019) and Tony Leone (drums and vocals since 2020).

This was an incredible night, with such talented musicians playing various genres of music and delivering extended jams that reminded me of the Grateful Dead, drawn from their large catalog of songs. After the set break, Little Feat played a terrific group of acoustic songs, and I loved hearing these classics performed to perfection.

Please do not retire soon—come back again soon and often.
