Concert Review: Journey Brought Their Final Frontier Tour to Dignity Health Arena in Bakersfield, CA

On April 22, 2026, Journey brought their highly anticipated Final Frontier Tour to Dignity Health Arena in Bakersfield, giving fans a night packed with nostalgia, energy, and timeless rock anthems. As one of the band’s final tours, the evening carried an extra sense of meaning for everyone in attendance.

Journey wasted no time setting the tone, opening the show with Be Good to Yourself. The energy inside the arena instantly exploded as frontman Arnel Pineda stormed the stage with unmatched charisma and powerhouse vocals. From the very first song, Arnel’s passion was undeniable.

During Ask the Lonely, Arnel had the crowd fired up as he jumped all over the stage, feeding off the audience’s energy. Then came La Raza del Sol, where the stage came alive with pyro effects and stunning lights that elevated the performance to another level.

One of the loudest singalongs of the night came with Open Arms. The entire arena seemed to turn into one giant karaoke session as fans passionately sang every word back to the band. It was one of those unforgettable moments where music connected everyone in the room.

Wheel in the Sky was another standout performance, featuring an incredible guitar solo from Neal Schon while Arnel continued to command the stage with nonstop energy. Pyro effects added even more excitement, making the performance feel larger than life.

Of course, Journey delivered the classics fans came to hear, including Faithfully, Don't Stop Believin', and Separate Ways (Worlds Apart). The night ended perfectly with Any Way You Want It, sending the crowd home on an emotional high.

Arnel Pineda once again amazed everyone with his voice, stamina, and stage presence. As a fellow Filipino, seeing him lead one of the greatest rock bands in history remains something truly special and inspiring.

For me personally, this was one of the most meaningful shows I’ve ever covered. Journey’s music reminds me of my dad, who was a huge fan of the band. Their songs were part of our karaoke jams and family memories growing up. I know he would be incredibly proud to see me covering this show—and I know he was watching from heaven the entire night.

Journey’s stop in Bakersfield was more than a concert. It was a celebration of legacy, family, memories, and music that will live forever.
