I’ve seen a lot of incredible vocalists over the years, but after seeing Spiritbox and Evanescence together, I’m still thinking about just how unreal the night was.
Spiritbox came out ready to go from the first song. Courtney LaPlante somehow makes the impossible look effortless, switching from beautiful melodies to brutal screams. The entire band is full of pure talent and the energy coming off the stage kept building with every song.
Then Evanescence took over, and somehow the night reached another level.
I’ve always known Amy Lee has an incredible voice, but seeing her live was on a completely different level. She is, without a doubt, one of the best performers I’ve ever watched. One minute she was running across the stage, and the next she was sitting at the piano delivering some of the most beautiful, emotional moments of the night. Her voice sounded just as strong as it did on the records, and even more impressive was how much passion she puts into every performance.Â
Spiritbox proved why they’re one of the most exciting bands in modern metal, and Evanescence reminded everyone why they’ve remained one of rock’s most iconic bands for over two decades.Â
