Arm’s Length brought it’s “There’s A Whole World… Tour” to The Underground Charlotte on April 29th, delivering a night that felt as raw as it was cathartic.
The night opened with a strong supporting lineup that set the tone early. Super Sometimes kicked things off with an upbeat, melodic set that eased the crowd into the night…they really caught my attention when I heard their spot on cover of Everytime I look for you (Blink 182). While Harrison Gordon followed with a more stripped-back, heartfelt performance that drew listeners in.
The Callous Daoboys took things in a completely different direction—unleashing a chaotic, genre-bending set packed with frantic tempo shifts, dissonant riffs, and an unhinged yet tightly controlled stage presence that made them one of the most memorable acts of the night. In my personal opinion, this band picked up where Every Time I Die left off. I’m always eager to hear what they come up with next.
Enter the headliner of the night…Arm’s Length. From the start, Allen Steinberg (lead vocalist/guitar) commanded the room with a performance that balanced vulnerability and aggression. Each song hit with urgency, pulling the crowd into quiet, reflective moments before erupting into explosive singalongs.
The packed room at The Underground Charlotte stayed locked in all night, shouting every lyric back with conviction. What stands out most about Arm’s Length live is how naturally their introspective songs translate into something communal—turning personal themes into shared release. Even their stage setup felt unique…they brought plants as part of their stage design. It made it feel like they were playing in some sort of house party in a gazebo. Really brought me back to the days when I’d go to a house party to watch hardcore bands played alongside “emo” and pop punk bands alike.
