In a move surprising their fans, Falling In Reverse dropped their first new single (and a video to go along with it) since concluding the Popular Monster cycle. “God Is A Weapon” is a moody, cinematic piece whose beginning is reminiscent of Marilyn Manson’s cover of the Eurythmics “Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)”. Which makes sense given Manson himself appears on the track as the featured artist. The dark lyrics paired with the low, dramatic undertones of the industrial genre create a sweeping landscape that works with not just Radke’s vocal style but showcases what made Manson a favorite in the shock rock scene, both vocalist’s voices lending weight to the brooding track. While the verses are heavily influenced by Manson, the breakdown is all Falling In Reverse, hefty and dramatic. The track will most certainly have Falling In Reverse and Marilyn Manson fans alike clamoring for the artists to collaborate on a full-length album.
“God Is A Weapon” is available on most major streaming services. Link for the official music video is below.
