Album Review: Arcade Fire's, Pink Elephant!

The Canadian indie- rock band Arcade Fire dropped their 7th studio album on May 9th, 2025. This collection of music is titled, Pink Elephant, and follows up their last album, We from 2022.
This band's sound has always been on the softer side of rock, but following their 2022 album, Pink Elephant is comprised of 10 songs, three of which are instrumental only! Tracks 1, 6 and 9 respectively.
Track 3 is called; "Year of the Snake" and it comes with a fun music video. This track also features Regine Chassagne on vocals and it's a nice break up from the more male focused voice of Win Butler throughout the album.
Track 4 is titled, "Circle of Trust" and it's a smooth and chill song, also featuring Regine's vocals. This song is the name of the bands fan club; you can join it by going to Arcade Fire's official website. The circle of trust at the bottom of the page takes you to a fan club app!! Plus 'circle of trust' is a continued theme in this album as the words themselves appear in track 5.
Speaking of track 5, "Alien Nation", it's my favorite on this album. It's probably the only one I could see being played at a rock festival!
Track 10, "Stuck in My Head", is a lengthy tune at over 7 minutes long!!!! But it's an easy listen.
To be honest, this album is just...okay. It's not the greatest follow up to the last album or even compared to the rest of their discography. The instrumental only tracks combined with the others do make for an easy listen. This album could definitely be the background music for a film or just something chill to clean your house to!!
Something cool to note, if you listen to the Pink Elephant album on the YouTube music app on your phone, the pink elephant candle from the album cover melts with each track until the flame blows out at track 10. It's a fun little visual.
